About

Firebird Fine Arts Tours proudly presents an unparalleled choral residency in the heart of Japan, led by the distinguished Dr. Irene Messoloras and featuring the world-renowned composer Ola Gjeilo. Set against the vibrant backdrop of Tokyo—a metropolis where neon-lit innovation meets the serene echoes of the Edo period—this immersive festival invites singers to bridge East and West through the universal language of song.

Participants will have the extraordinary honor of rehearsing and performing under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Messoloras, whose award-winning career and expressive artistry have made her a leading voice in the international choral community. Joining her is Ola Gjeilo, one of the most frequently performed composers of our time. Known for his "cinematic" and "luminous" choral style, Gjeilo’s music, often described as a transcendent blend of lush harmonies and ethereal textures, provides the perfect sonic landscape for this Eastern journey. Under their collaborative guidance, singers will engage deeply with Gjeilo’s masterpieces, finding new spiritual resonance within the unique cultural tapestry of Japan.

Taking place in June 2027, the festival seamlessly weaves world-class music-making with a curated exploration of Tokyo’s most iconic landmarks, from the tranquil majesty of Meiji Shrine to the architectural wonders of the modern city.
